Announcements:

Cold Weather Clothes​ - As the seasons change, please consider sending in extra clothes appropriate for cold weather for your child. If you choose to do so, please send them in a ziploc bag marked with their name and we will exchange them for the warm weather clothes you sent in earlier this year.
In addition, please be sure your child is dressed with appropriate outerwear for the cold weather as we will continue to go outside for recess for as long as possible!

Scholastic Book Order - This year we will be sending home Scholastic order forms throughout the year. This is a fantastic way for you to get new, affordable, high quality books into your child's hands at home! Your purchases also earn points for our classroom and I am able to get new books for our classroom library. Last year we got many free books for our students! Folders:

Your child has two folders that we will use for communication this year. Please be sure to check the folders each night for important information from school.
-The blue folder is the daily folder. You will find a pocket to place notes from home and money coming to school with the Weekly Story homework assignment on the back (more information below). Your child's homework and Encore calendar will come home in this folder as well. Please return this every day in your child's backpack.
-The white "Husky" folder is the folder that only goes home on Fridays. You will find the work your child has completed as well as important information sent from the office. Please look over the work your child completed and talk to them about what they are learning. This folder is to be emptied and returned every Monday in your child's backpack.

Homework:

Our kindergarten homework consists of a Weekly Story. The story will come home at the beginning of the week and will be due on Friday. Read the story each night with your child. He/she can color the pictures in the story and answer the question on the back of the paper. The other activities listed on the backside are optional things you can do with your child in addition to reading the story.

Show and Tell:

Each week our Line Leader will have the opportunity to bring in a Show and Tell item on that Friday. When you child is Line Leader, I will send a note home letting you know when to send in a special item to share!

About Me:

My name is Kristine Kellenberger and I will be your child's kindergarten teacher this year. This is my seventh year teaching in PWCS. I've taught kindergarten for three years and second grade for three years. I have been a part of Prince William County Schools since I was in kindergarten myself! I received my bachelors degree from George Mason University and my masters degree from The College of William and Mary. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns.
