Shop for School Tax-Free before School Begins; Virginia Sales Tax Holiday is August 1–3
July 21, 2014

School supplies selling for $20 or less per item and articles of clothing, including footwear, selling for $100 or less per item will be exempt from sales tax during the Virginia Sales Tax Holiday scheduled for Friday, August 1 through Sunday, August 3.

Families with children in Prince William County Public Schools are encouraged to take advantage of these savings to prepare their students for the upcoming school year. Check your school’s Web site or call your school for a copy of the 2014–15 supply list. For a directory of schools, go to pwcs.edu and click on “Schools,” then select the directory by grade level.

Beginning July 28, SPARK, the Education Foundation for PWCS, will collect school supplies at the Kelly Leadership Center to help ensure that all student have the back-to-school basics they need to return to school ready to learn. The Kelly Leadership Center is located at 14715 Bristow Road, Manassas, VA 20112
Most-needed items include backpacks, 3-ring binders, tabbed dividers, folders with pockets, spiral notebooks, loose-leaf paper, colored pencils, pencil boxes/bags, tissues, hand sanitizer, marble composition books, ink pens (blue or black), No. 2 pencils, washable markers, crayons, highlighters, glue/glue sticks, rounded scissors, index cards, and graph paper.

Camp Invention
Camp Invention begins on August 4th. There are only a few more spots available. Sign up today!!!

Camp Invention inspires creativity and inventive thinking during its weeklong summer program! Directed by Sarah Willey with Adam Strait, Laurie Waller, Sarah Standard and Karen
Holbrook instructing; children will be immersed into fun-filled, exciting, activities that reinvent summer fun. Throughout the week, children will work together to solve real- world challenges
that will prepare them for the 21st century. Whether they are creating an epic, insect-themed pinball machine or dismantling

Kindergarten Open Registration

Your student must be five years old before September 30th to be registered.
Documents to bring with you at registration:
-Certified copy of your child's birth certificate
-Child's social security card
-Three proofs of residence, one which has to be a copy of your deed/contract; a current rental or lease agreement; or a notarized affidavit of residency.
-The remaining two proofs can be a utility bill, car registration, personal property tax bill, military ID, voter registration card, or driver's license.
-If your child has already turned five years old, please bring a copy of his or her immunizations and five year old physical.

               ECS Mid-Atlantic made a $1.200 contribution to Henderson's Children's Engineering Program.

The entire Henderson community would like to thank ECS Mid Atlantic for their generous donation which will be used to purchase supplies for our Children's Engineering Program. Contributions towards our Children's Engineering Program help us to improve and offer invaluableSTEM opportunites for our Huskies!
